Micro-needle treatments can be customized to match your needs. Choose between light treatments that provide nice benefits with little to no downtime or intensive treatments to address stubborn wrinkles or difficult to treat conditions like acne scarring. Patients receive topical numbing prior to treatment and the treatment itself typically ranges from 20-30 minutes depending on the conditions treated. How Is Microneedling Different Than Laser Treatments?
One benefit of micro-needling is that the treatment does not rely on heat. This allows safe and effective treatment of all skin types. Laser treatment work wonders, but there is a risk of hyperpigmentation in patients with darker skin. Collagen P.I.N. micro-needling is safe for all skin types. The controlled mechanical injuries produce a wound healing response that rejuvenates the skin.
How Many Microneedling Treatments Will I Need?
Most patients start with a series of 3-6 treatments. Patients with mild to moderate wrinkles typically require 3-4 treatments for optimal results while acne scar patients should plan on 6 or more treatments.
Does Microneedling Hurt?
The topical numbing is very effective. The majority of patients report little to no pain during the course of the treatment.
Is Downtime Required After Microneedling?
Your skin will be pink the day of treatment and you may have some swelling during the first 24 hours. Healing times vary depending on how aggressive the treatment is. Makeup can be worn after 24 hours, and most patients are completely healed in 5-7 days even with aggressive treatments.
