Skin Care for Men
Dr. Sarah Mess is a strong advocate for quality skin care routine for both men and women. Proactive measures, such as a dedication to sun protection and hydration, can help prevent premature signs of aging and sun damage. However, once the skin has been damaged, there is no way to correct it using at-home remedies. When it comes to facial rejuvenation, men have different needs than women do, as they tend to have thicker skin and are often not willing to go through extensive recovery periods. Fortunately, Dr. Mess offers Halo™ and BBL™ laser therapies that provide optimal results with minimal downtime, making them perfect for the man on the go.
Schedule an AppointmentHalo™
Halo™ is a hybrid laser that simultaneously performs non-ablative and ablative skin resurfacing. This non-surgical treatment gives men the best results possible with almost no downtime, allowing them to return to their demanding schedules with fresh, radiant skin. Halo™ can correct the following skin imperfections:
- Sun damage
- Signs of aging
- Poor skin texture
- Poor complexion
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Enlarged pores
- Acne scars
BBL™ Therapy
Broadband light, or BBL™, offers a non-surgical treatment for skin rejuvenation that involves using high-intensity light to revitalize and tighten aging skin. In a matter of days, patients can achieve the brighter, fresher-looking skin they desire without putting daily responsibilities on hold. BBL™ can treat the following skin concerns:
- Pigmented lesions
- Vascular lesions
- Skin firmness
- Poor skin texture
Recovery
Recovery from either Halo™ or BBL™ therapy is simple. Some soreness and redness are expected immediately following treatment; the sensation is similar to that of a sunburn. Patients may resume their normal activities the day after laser therapy, but they should avoid unprotected exposure of the treated area to sunlight for four weeks. Within three to seven days, the skin should begin to show improvements.
Results
Initial results will become visible during the first week of recovery, but the skin continues to improve for several weeks. These laser treatments trigger dermal regeneration, which is why the skin experiences lasting rejuvenation long after recovery.
